MOOC for teachers “Helping kids build and manage healthy online relationships” starts in October 2025
11.09.2025
For today’s young people, being online is a big part of how they connect; with friends, family, classmates, and even new people. While the internet opens up lots of opportunities to build and strengthen relationships, it can also come with risks like cyberbullying, grooming, radicalisation, or harmful stereotypes.
This MOOC explores the nature of youth online relationships, including romantic ones, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges. Participants will learn how to support young people in fostering healthy, safe, and respectful interactions online, and how to build positive digital communities through education.
Learning objectives:
• Understand how young people communicate online and what they gain from it.
• Explore key risks in youth online relationships, like cyberbullying or grooming.
• Learn strategies young people can use to stay safe and how to teach them effectively.
• Identify the skills needed for healthy online relationships and how educators can support positive digital citizenship.
• Learn more about the BIK+ strategy, the Insafe network, and resources from Safer Internet Centres across Europe.
Language: English.
The course will offer a certificate upon successful completion. Please note that the MOOC will remain publicly accessible beyond the end date; however, participants will no longer be able to obtain a certificate after the detailed end date.
